Important information

When does the vignette validity start?

Validity starts after issuance is confirmed, according to the selected start date, and expires at 23:59 on the last day
If you choose a future date: validity starts at 00:00 on that day
You can buy the rovinieta up to 30 days before the start date
There is no grace period — make sure the vignette is active before entering toll roads

On which roads is it mandatory?

Rovinieta is mandatory for driving on all national roads and motorways in Romania.
It is not required for local or communal roads.

At the border crossing

Romanian authorities may check at the border whether you have a valid rovinieta:

Keep the confirmation from email or the app handy
Make sure the vignette is active before entering Romania
Verification is done electronically via the license plate number

Important payment deadlines

Discounted payment (50%): Within the first 15 days from the date of the fine report
Standard payment: Within a maximum of 30 days from the date the fine is communicated
